Hrithik Roshan and Sonali Bendre narrowly escaped the Monday's bomb blasts in Katra in which seven pilgrims were killed. The two Bollywood stars had offered prayers at the Vaishno Devi shrine hours before the blast occurred.
When we got in touch with Rakesh Roshan he said, "God has been very kind. Hrithik left nine hours before the blast occurred."
With Hrithik badly in need of a hit, we wondered if Hrithik had gone there to seek God’s blessings for their next home production venture Koi Mil Gaya which is to hit the theatres soon.
But Rakesh Roshan was quick to dismiss the speculation. "Hrithik went there to seek blessings. Koi Mil Gaya had nothing to do with his visit. Hrithik goes there as and when he wishes to."
Sonali Bendre is glad to have returned safely to the security of her home.
"All of us, childhood friends -- Hrithik, Suzanne, Goldie, myself and a few more who are unrelated to the film industry -- decided to go to Vaishno Devi together. We had security with us and walked 24 km. I had decided that I would be selfish and pray only for myself this time. When I returned to Mumbai and heard the news of the blast I was shocked. God has been merciful. Now I think I’ll have to go back to Vaishno Devi to thank God for his kindness."
The shrine, it is heard, is frequented by a lot of film personalities.
